Happy New Year! Amazing Things Will Happen – Hardcover Giveaway

- December 31, 2012 - by , in contest, helpful advice, real life, with 8 comments -

Amazing Things Will HappenMy friend C.C. Chapman wrote this fantastic little book called Amazing Things Will Happen.  It’s small, it’s short and it’s packed with things that will help you reach your goals in 2013 and beyond that.  This is a timeless book that you will revisit.

I have two copies and I much prefer my Kindle version.  I usually wouldn’t bother giving away the hardcover version but C.C.’s words have helped me immensely in planning for the new year. I think that it will help you as well.

His advice let me see a path to going in the direction that I wanted, that it was okay to ask for help and that sometimes you have to take a leap without waiting for everything to be perfect. There isn’t some magical moment that will make everything sparkle and the oceans part with Jimmy Fallon singing in the background to give you the sign to move forward.  It’s about stop making excuses and making choices.

Want a copy?

So here’s the deal.  I have only one hardcover to giveaway. I want to get it to someone who can greatly benefit from the advice within and will put it into practice in 2013.

All you have to do is tell me in the comments, what is one amazing thing you expect to accomplish in 2013?

That’s it.  I may ask a couple of people to help me to decide and will announce the winner via blog post on January 3rd, 2013.  Cool?

I want to raise enough enough money to take a 6m x6m sculpture to Burning Man 2013. I have to build it here in the UK and somehow ship it out to The States. It will allow me to collaborate with some amazing artists here, and will challenge me to see if I can raise the money through crowd funding. The biggest thing I have made to date measures around 80cm long so my project should be interesting to say the least........

2012 was a year of standing still or moving backwards for me. I moved back into my parents' house, a long relationship ended, I couldn't manage to hold on to a decently-paying job, and my depression got worse. Now that I'm treating my depression I'm ready for good things in this next year - a full-time job, maybe grad school, basically just living life more fully. I'm finally in a mind space to actually be able to make positive changes in my life, so that's my goal for the year - making everything better.

I will be challenging myself to try one new thing each month BY MYSELF. I need to get more comfortable doing things on my own simply because I'm my best date. Hopefully that will help encourage others to get out and do more new things.

I want o challenge myself in 2013 to be more powerful and tap into my inner strength. One way to do this is to take more risks and recognize that I am capable of great things. I want to make amazing things happen for myself by stepping up and letting my light shine. :)

I expect -- or at least plan to -- learn how to let go.

Allow me to clarify. I often joke that due to my Catholic upbringing, I'm terribly good at the whole "wallowing in guilt" thing. But after a rather tumultuous 2012 that brought with it some pretty significant life changes, I started to realize (with the help of a certain Chel) that I need to not just *say* that I accept the things I cannot change and to accept their presence in my life, but to actually *live* that idea. So, one of my big goals for 2013 is to put in the effort and the discipline to really make that concept part of my daily life.

Alternatively, I barely made it to my goal of reading 100 books in 2012. Going for 101 in 2013. :)
