A small trick to save you time when moving your WordPress blog (and backup advice!)
Sometimes your hosting just doesn’t live up to your needs and/or expectations. I’ve experienced downtime and the accidental deletion of my database tables myself. Eventually if the host is really bad, you reach the point where enough is enough. Maybe because of GoDaddy’s Super Bowl ads or the Network Solutions deal to switch was too sweet to pass up after the controversy. Either way, you’re ready to make the move, but reading the WordPress instructions makes you want to hide under the covers. Here’s some hints that’ll make it easier. Note: Just for reference, those of you who do not know, I am a legal assistant so this type of thing draws my attention. This morning I woke to this article regarding a judge ruling that a bin Laden tape could be played to the Padilla jury. The problem is that defense for Padilla says that there’s no evidence he even *saw* the tape. Yet the judge ruled that the jury could view it and make a decision about Padilla’s life based on that viewing. The jury was “warned” that the tape had nothing to do with Septemeber 11th, but that day is emotionally charged and linked to bin Laden. A tape of that man[.....]
Introducing Latte…
This week, I’ve had multiple changes happening in Second Life. I have a new temporary home on Los Arboles. And I have a new kitten! Latte was born on May 29, 2007 at 5:49 SLT. Latte is Siamese and likes me to carry her around as you can see above. She meows hello to everyone she meets and is very friendly. The rumors are true, Latte *is* named after Latte Days and Porter Nights. Very soon I will have a new home on Edloe Island. Yes, I’m scared of Crap. Yes, I love him too. I’m confident that he’ll make an excellent island owner. And yes he’s threatened me with bodily harm if I don’t[.....]
