[SL] L$32,069,017!

The’s the number. For the year 2007, Second Life’s Relay for Life raised the rough equivalent of US$130,000. Each donation, each penny, made it happen and takes the research one step closer. While Relayers made their rounds on the track, some excellent music was played, survivors were honored and hopes were offered. Some musicians remarkably offered to match if donations reached a certain number while they played. One friend, asked for donations to reach L$150,000 on one kiosk and he would lay down L$100,000 on top of it. A few seconds later and it was well past the $L150K mark. It was a remarkable moment. Real life and Second Life…

Just a little update before I attempt to remind myself to blog daily….new habits are a pain in the tush until they are habits. On Going Broke, I left a voicemail for Daph and Tam this week and Daph dead panned the answer to my question, Does that boot make Tam’s ass look fat? Apparently I also made the comment most likely to get me locked up! What did I say? Well go listen and find out! A brand spankin’ new episode of GBAffair is out. recent happenings…

So in recent weeks, writing here has just seemed to be overwhelming. Here are a few recent events…besides the one I just posted. The Dixie Rebels auction was a great success due to the efforts of Seaway, Mystic, Marissa and Lachlan. The auction helped to generate 200,000L in donations! Tamara Kirshner auctioned of a date with herself, that date alone earned a donation of 61000L! Thank you so much Tam for joining us for the cause!!!! I’m so proud of you! (And hopefully it didn’t make Crap too jealous, he still loves you, you know?) I mentioned our housewarming party! We moved onto Quiet Island and invited a few friends over for a little get[.....]

many thanks…

This is a very important entry for me to write and it’s taken time to get it just right, to say what I want and need to say to those involved in this effort. My grandmother is currently fighting against lung and pancreatic cancer. Relay for Life provided me with an opportunity to do something good and not feel so helpless while she fights for her life. It’s thanks to amazing effort that the fundraiser with Matthew Ebel in dedication to my grandmother was such a success, the generosity of the donations and the words touched my heart in a way that is profound and will stay with me for the rest of my life.[.....]

looks like I’ve been swept away…
