Awaken Your Superhero – An eBook
Last year, my friend Chris took a long trip and asked a handful of people, including me, to write some inspirational stories on his blog for the period he was gone. Chris took the stories that we told and packaged them up in a free download, I wanted to share it with you – Awaken Your Superhero ebook style (also the name of his blog). Accompanied by some great minds, I wrote a post that pushed the boundaries of my usual writing style and includes the words “invisible pink monkeys”, if that doesn’t make you want to download and read it I don’t know what will. Other than I can promise that it will help[.....]

3 Words and Goals for 2012 – Flow Insight and Commitment
At the first of the year, for a few years now, Chris Brogan has inspired me to think of and post three words that I want to strive to define the new year by. I had to think about it a bit more than usual this year as so many things have threaded through my life in the last few months making me question really where I want to go next. It’s been a bit of a challenge, but I like challenges and am ready to meet 2012 with the feistiness it deserves. Flow, Insight, Commitment. Flow There is a common thread running through each of the things that I do professionally. There are many strands[.....]

BatchBook Experts
It must be true love…..or the mistletoe. BatchBook and I have been in love for three years now. It started slow and easy, I met BatchBook after Chris Brogan wrote about it. Diving into the program and it’s easy user interface made me all glowy with excitement. I melted at the to do list and SuperTags. It still warms my heart every time I check the social media SuperTag and fill out all of the details. It’s time. It’s time to admit that we’ve recently gotten a little more attached to each other. The busy bees at BatchBlue mentioned their shiny new BatchBook Experts program and it was fate. I’ve decided to commit, go public[.....]
Giving Thanks
Every year on Thanksgiving I post here about what I’m thankful for. It seems every year some significant changes come to my life. Some of them good, some not so great. This year hasn’t been different from that norm, but the changes it’s brought have been remarkable. I’m thankful most of all for the experience I had at Evocation in Dayton, OH this past October with Stephen K. Hayes. It’s opened my eyes and every day is teaching me something new about myself and this crazy path I call life. I’m exceptionally thankful as always for such good friends, my family and loved ones that help me, guide me, stand by me, and touch my[.....]
Recovering from Twitter Phishing
If you have gotten your Twitter account hacked because you’ve clicked on a phishing scam link, here’s how to get it cleaned up. Otherwise you might find yourself on lists you don’t want to be on. Edited to add: Also, periodically check your sent tweets to see what your account has been doing without you! (Hat tip to @cspenn.) Step 1: Stop clicking the links that get you hacked in the first place. Even if you know the person, consider the message that’s accompanying the link. If it sounds suspicious it probably is. Step 2: No seriously. Stop. Step 3: If you are still logged into your account, log out. Step 4: Clear your browser[.....]
Tip: Don’t Use MS Word to Compose Blog Posts for WordPress
If you’re blogging on the WordPress platform, composing your posts in MS Word, copying and pasting them to the Add New Post window, this carries over encoding that makes your post look funky sometimes when you hit publish. To avoid this, use something like BBEdit, TextEdit (included on Macs), or another notepad type of software. I know some folks use blog editors like Ecto as well. This works too. If you have composed posts in MS Word in the past, go back to those post in WordPress, select all (Crtl + A or Cmd + A) and click the Remove Formatting button to clean it up (the button looks like a white eraser). Need help?[.....]

Brain Matters
Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor was having a stroke. Not only was she having a stroke, she was aware of the process her body went through as it happened. Dr. Taylor, as an neuroanatomist (a brain scientist), studied the stroke, the effects on her body, and got a glimpse into how our two brains work within one mind. She explains what that experience was like in her TED Talk and what we should take away from her experience. It is fascinating speech. She reminds us that it’s good to be alive and that she discovered the beauty of “we have the power to choose, moment by moment, who and how we want to be in the world.”[.....]
I am not my limitations
I spent the weekend Dayton, OH. It wasn’t for a conference or an unconference. I made a choice that I needed to honor an opportunity to attend a seminar by Stephen K. Hayes called Evocation. I owe a a great deal to Chris Penn, Mark Davis and Stephen K. Hayes for making this weekend possible for me, for opening the door and giving me the choice to be present. To explain Evocation, I’ll tell you, I get asked a lot what Podcamp is and you could ask me about what Evocation is, but Chris nailed it. It’s not easy to describe and it’s something you need to experience in order to get what you need to out of it. After[.....]
Andrew Peek’s Commercial-free Me: Not all .PPTs Are Boring
I came across this beautifully done .ppt from Andrew Peek. Not only is it beautiful but it makes the points of why loving what you do is more lasting than the big bucks. “What does Commercial-free mean? It’s the story of YOU, without the corporate sponsor, prime time title, and of course, the wait.” View more presentations from Andrew Peek. One of the ultimate goals in my life is to love and believe in what I do every day and to let that passion drive me. What about you? Prezi, Where Presentations Don’t Have to Be Boring
Last week I got sucked into Prezi again and this time, I fell in love even more. If you haven’t heard of Prezi, it’s a new kind of presentation tool. Prezi tends to get you to dig in and find the creative bones and put them to use developing more than just a slideshow. With fun or just plan cool visual effects. I recently tweaked a syllabus Prezi for Howard Rheingold for his upcoming classes. This is just a small example of what Prezi can do. If you want to get really crazy creative, then check out this press release done in Prezi… Created by Adam Somlai-Fischer If my mindblown awe isn’t enough of an[.....]
